Community

Blake Real Estate encourages our team members to give back to the community in any way they can.  We support a wide range of groups and efforts.
   
  •  The James E. Duckworth Regional School Special Olympics Challenge Day
  •  American Heart Association's Heart Walk Fundraiser (Blake has raised $100,000 annually since 2013)
  •  American Heart Association's Wear Red Day
  •  Toys for Tots and Winter Coat Drives (in partnership with Pathways to Housing  DC)
  •  Donating surplus building materials to Community Forklift
  •  Girl Scout Cookies (we typically purchase 5,000 boxes each year to distribute in our buildings)




  
We also support our tenants in their recycling efforts. The building utilizes the single stream method which is the commingling of all recyclable materials.  We collect and recycle toner cartridges; a typical collection nets over 175 used printer cartridges.  We have also helped tenants recycle monitors, old telephone systems, printers and lighting systems.
